CRICOS Course Code : 0100011
This course covers Academic English which is what you will need for further study. It includes speaking, listening, writing and reading, including listening to lectures, speaking in tutorials, giving presentations, reading academic texts, and writing essays and reports. To help you with these skills, there will also be plenty of vocabulary and grammar to help you succeed in your future course.
- All students must be 18 years of age or over
- Have a minimum a Year 12 or equivalent or higher education
English Academic Purpose Intermediate
- IELTS level of overall 5.0 or higher or have completed an approved English Test
English Academic Purpose Upper Intermediate
- IELTS level of overall 5.5 or higher or have completed an approved English Test
English Academic Purpose Advanced
- IELTS level of overall 6 or higher or have completed an approved English Test
All prospective students are required to participate in an interview with one of the student support officers at ATQ College. The outcome of this interview will be forwarded to the VET academic manager to assess their suitability & capacity to undertake the course. The interview may in person or via phone/skype.
- 4 – 40 weeks including 4 weeks holidays
- 12 weeks per level (minimum enrolled weeks of study required are 4 weeks)

Mode of Study and Attendance
Our classes are 20 hours a week, face to face classroom based teaching, that requires that our students attend a minimum of 80% of all their classes. We do not offer online or distance based learning or teaching for English Courses.
On successful completion of the course, students will obtain an Academic English Certificate of Achievement for their course, provided that the student has the following requirements:
- 80% attendance
Each class has a student capacity of 18 students. Smaller classes allow the teacher to focus individually on each student on a much deeper level, taking into account their individual learning needs.
ATQ does not grant course credits for domestic or international students for any English courses.
