Our SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy focuses on developing practical skills so you are ready to follow your passion and launch your career as a qualified beauty therapist. You will be able to provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services including specialised facials, body treatments and massage, waxing hair removal, lash and brow treatments and nail and makeup services. This course will give you the knowledge in the fundamentals of Beauty as well as the practical and diagnostic skills required. Career Opportunity Job roles for participants following their completion may include: Beauty therapist, Spa therapist, Make-up artist, and Beauty adviser.
The students in the SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy will be Students from overseas, they will have met our entry requirements of:
-Student Age: Students must be aged 18 or above at the time of enrolment
-Academic Requirement: Have a minimum a Year 12 or equivalent or higher education
-English Language Proficiency: IELTS level of overall 5.5 or higher or have completed an approved English test
-Course Attendance: Students are required to attend all classes, 21 hours per week as scheduled in order to meet mandatory course attendance requirement
-Learner Resource Requirement: Student must have proper electronic tools to access student online portal and online resources such as E-Books.
-Pre – Enrolment interview: All prospective students are required to participate in an interview with one of the Student Support Officers of ATQ College. The outcome of this interview together with the outcome of the LLN test report will be forwarded to the VET Academic Manager to assess their suitability & capacity to undertake the course. The interview may be in person or via the phone/skype.
-LLN: Completion of Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLN test) of ATQ College.
-Technology and literacy requirements:
Learners will need access to a computer and the internet with the following specifications:
-Microsoft Office 2007 or above and
-Microsoft Windows 2000 or Mac OS X
-Learners will also need access to a printer and the following applications: Adobe Acrobat Reader and Macromedia Flash player.
-Sound computer skills are required that include using intermediate level Word features. Ability to produce and present word-processed documents/ reports and undertake internet research.
-As part of the learning cycle students may be required to undertake online research or activities each week in class during term time.
-Other requirements: Students require reasonable levels of fitness to work as a beauty therapist as the work typically involves a range of physical movements, including bending and stretching and long periods of standing.

*60 weeks study: 6 terms x 10 weeks of study
*14 weeks of holidays
*Mode of study and contact hours: Blended as follows
-Classroom (Face to face) : 21hours per week
-Self-paced Study(Online) : 10hours per week
-Workplace delivery : a minimum of 150 hours of work placement between Term 2 and Term 6 over the duration of the course

*To complete the course, you must meet other requirements as followings:
– Compulsory Workplace Training: This course has a mandatory workplace training component. Students are required to complete a minimum of 150 hours of work placement between Term 2 and Term 6 over the duration of the course. ATQ College will assist students find a work-placement or students may elect to nominate their own work-placement, to be approved by the RTO. This is in addition to the 21 hours per week of face to face training.
– Learners need to meet the requirements of the host employer Beauty Salon in order to complete their work placement. It is the responsibility of the learner to check their workplace organisation’s requirements.
Australian Training and Qualification College does NOT guarantee that:
-A learner will successfully complete the course attainment. This is subject to completing all the required units of competency and work placement requirements.
-A learner will obtain an employment outcome as this is outside the control of ATQ College.
