SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy
Our SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy focuses on developing practical skills so you are ready to follow your passion and launch your career as a qualified beauty therapist. You will be able to provide a range of beauty therapy treatments and services including specialised facials, body treatments and massage, waxing hair removal, lash and brow treatments and nail and makeup services. This course will give you the knowledge in the fundamentals of Beauty as well as the practical and diagnostic skills required.
The students in the SHB50115 Diploma of Beauty Therapy will be for Australian students who meet the below entry requirements:
-Academic Requirements: High school completion – Year 12 or equivalent
-Age: must be over 18
-Interview: All prospective students are required to participate in an interview with one of the Student Support Officers of ATQ College. The outcome of this interview together with the outcome of the LLN test report with the completed interview will be forwarded to the VET Academic Manager to assess their suitability & capacity to undertake the course. The interview may be in person or via the phone/skype. The subjects covered by the Diploma require a degree of maturity and commitment with students being involved extensively in practical demonstration and simulated work sessions.
-Language, Literacy and Numeracy requirements:
English Entry Requirements
-All prospective students must complete the LLN Robot online Language, Literacy and Numeracy Test (LLN test) and achieve ACSF level 3 in reading and numeracy.
-Technology and literacy requirements: Learners will need access to a computer and the internet with the following specifications:
-Microsoft Office 2007 or above and
-Microsoft Windows 2000 or Mac OS X
-Learners will also need access to a printer and the following applications: Adobe Acrobat Reader and Macromedia Flash player.
-Sound computer skills are required that include using intermediate level Word features. Ability to produce and present word-processed documents/ reports and undertake internet research.
-As part of the learning cycle students may be required to undertake online research or activities each week in class during term time.
-Other requirements: Students require reasonable levels of fitness to work as a beauty therapist as the work typically involves a range of physical movements, including bending and stretching and long periods of standing.

*60 weeks study: 6 terms x 10 weeks of study
*14 weeks of holidays
*Mode of study and contact hours: Blended as follows
-Classroom (Face to face) : 14-21 hours per week
-Self-paced Study(Online) : 10 hours per week
-Workplace delivery : a minimum of 350 hours of work placement between Term 2 and Term 6 over the duration of the course
*Location of Delivery: Level 1, 372 Chapel Road, Bankstown, NSW 2200, Australia.
Workplace will be conducted in a ATQ approved Beauty Salon to ensure it can provide a suitable environment to gather practical experiences across all tasks outlined in the units of competency.

*To complete the course, you must meet other requirements as followings:
– Compulsory Workplace Training: This course has a mandatory workplace training component. Students are required to complete a minimum of 350 hours of work placement between Term 2 and Term 6 over the duration of the course. ATQ College will assist students find a work-placement or students may elect to nominate their own work-placement, to be approved by the RTO. This is in addition to the 14-21 hours per week of face to face training.
– Learners need to meet the requirements of the host employer Beauty Salon in order to complete their work placement. It is the responsibility of the learner to check their workplace organisation’s requirements.
Australian Training and Qualification College does NOT guarantee that:
-A learner will successfully complete the course attainment. This is subject to completing all the required units of competency and work placement requirements.
-A learner will obtain an employment outcome as this is outside the control of ATQ College.
